So, You Forgot to Water Your Plants…

If you're brand new to the world of house plants, or maybe your plant care routine is, let's just say.. ‘inconsistent’, then we have you covered with these three, easy care, leafy friends.

 Syngonium -  Arrowhead Plant

Meet your new plant bestie, the Syngonium. They have lush foliage that can range in dreamy shades of green, pink, and even deep burgundy. These guys are as pretty as they are forgiving.

Why we think you’ll love it

They won't hate you if you forget a watering (or two… or three)

They're the perfect plant for tables, plant stands, shelves or a hanger! Or even as a groundcover in a shady part of your garden

Care tips

Keep the soil moist but not soggy

They love a warm spot with filtered indoor light or outdoors in part shade.

Rotate every now and then to encourage even foliage growth

!They can be toxic to pets and humans! So please don't taste test them

Propagation

Easy peasy! Just snip a cutting below a node, and pop it in some water or soil - and boom! you’ll have a new plant in no time.

Styling Tips

Syngonium's trail beautifully as they grow, so pop them in a hanger and let them do their thing, or up on a shelf to let them cascade. If you want to get creative, prop them up on a trellis and let them climb!

Sansevieria - Snake Plant or Mother-In-Law’s Tongue

Sansevieria are a striking statement plant that have tall sword-like leaves which are green in colour, often speckled with darker green stripes or yellow edges. They thrive on neglect, so they’re perfect for the forgetful!

Why we think you’ll love it

Sansevieria are (almost) indestructible.

They can survive on sweet nothings and good vibes only

They are one of the BEST air purifiers. Because in this economy, all of your children need to be contributing to the household. Even your plant babies.

Care tips

Tolerates both low light or brighter indirect light

Water sparingly - they won't appreciate soggy feet.

Slow and steady wins the race, this plant baby is a slow grower.

Propagation

Break apart and divide the plant at the base,

Take leaf cuttings and plonk them into some water or soil, or

Take a rhizome cutting and plant it!

Now your collection has doubled. Your plant obsession is starting to get out of control now.

Styling

Pair your sansevieria with a neutral or monochrome coloured pot - let those bold leaves do the talking!

If you’ve been patient (or maybe you've just forgotten about it for a few years) your sansevieria might be getting quite tall! Use that height to your advantage - they’re perfect for visually breaking up low lying furniture settings like lounges, entertainment units, or low benches. It's like adding a tall friend to a group photo (I’m looking at you Mel).

Propagation

Gently divide the rhizomes, or

If you're feeling patient you can propagate the leaves in some water (this can take a while, so don't lose hope).
